Contax G on Bessa R*

Hi, Can Contax G lenses be used on Bessa R series cameras? Thanks.

With expensive adaptations. It's really not worth it, unless you are just dying for the experience.

The lens has to be converted to the Leica mount. An expensive process that I believe can be done somewhere in Japan. If you get the lenses cheaply enough (the G lenses are at bargain prices right now), it may be worth it. The G lenses are very similar in performance (and some in design) to the new Zeiss Ikon lenses. Where the design of the ZI lens differs from the G lens is primarily to make it more suitable for use in a potential digtal body (here were are talking about the 16, 21 and 28 mm lenses primarily).

You would also need to fit a manual focussing helical as the Bessa is not AF. I think the answer is "no".
