frank_a._bridges
I have read one should expose c-41 B & W film at asa 200 instead of the rated 400 on the film package. I wonder if that rule applies to scanned film or just to wet darkroom printing. Some people say a thin negative scans better.
graham_line
Exposing Ilford's XP2 Super at about ISO250 gives me smoother tones and much better shadow detail, and the negs scan very well: Fuji's Neopan 400CN, if you can get it (not sold in the US) seems to work well at 400 and scans easily. Haven't tried it with wet/darkroom printing. Haven't used the most recent version of Kodak's chromogenic B&W.
josphy
I have shot a lot of XP2, and it definitely looks better with about a stop of extra exposure when scanned. I have never actually printed any xp2 in a wet darkroom, but I have scanned a lot.
