paul_chan4
Using a 90mm Grandagon on a Wista DX field for a normal shot without rise or swing, would I need to drop the bed to avoid it interfering on the image? Does the same situation apply in both the 'portrait' or 'landscape' orientation considering the wide coverage of this focal length? Thanks for your input. doremus_scudder1
I use a Schneider 90mm SA f-8 mounted in a technica recessed board on my Wista DX. If I set up the front standard so that I do not have to rack out the bellows much to focus, there is no problem with vignetting. If extensive (for this lens/bellows combination) movements are used, especially lens fall, there is a danger. Usually you can see this on the ground glass (if you are aware of the potential trouble and check for it) and make a correction. Again, I find that positioning the front standard as far forward as possible when setting up the camera is the best insurance. Often I set it up to long and focus roughly by loosening the clamps and sliding the front standard back. Fine focusing is then done with the rack. Hope this helps,
