Delivery time for 1ds MK II?

Hello, I ordered my Canon EOS 1ds MK II on 23.8.2005 and still they

cannot deliver it. Canon seems to be very short on the highclass

cameras and products in general (EF 35/1.4 for example).

 

How long did you have to wait for your 1ds MK II?

You're right. Just try to get your hands on a 70-200 f/4 in North Western Europe these days. If it wasn't for the rebate, valid only in Europe, I would have already bought it in the USA. I ordered the damn lens at the beginning of August! I guess saving 100 bucks means waiting 100 years......

Hi Chris, I've had mine a while (few months) but when I looked around for one everywhere said backordered for the near future. So I just placed an order for one with Amazon.com thinking it'd be a month or two because that's what they initially said. I think two days later I got a shipping notification and got the camera in less than a week. I'm not sure if this will happen to you but I hope so - it was a pleasant surprised to not have to wait so long. Good luck!

When I ordered mine on 23.08.2005 they said it would ship on 26.08.2005. It didn't happen. And since then they are telling me new dates all the times... I hope to get the camera soon though... A pity Canon is so slow. They seem to focus more on the mass production stuff and totally forget to care for the pros. I asked for the EF35/1.4 in February and still cannot get it anywhere (not even B&H, nowhere in Europe, etc.).
