everheul
What type of subjects do you shoot?
df-gallery
Seems like an easy question. The choice is is divided by two questions, do you need the faster aperture difference of 2 stops, and do you need the extra 2x reach? These questions are best answered by your subject matter. Otherwise, you can go for the 70-200 plus a 2x or 1.4x TC and get the same results. Don't worry too much about image quality, but rather on getting the right tool to capture the image. Hope that helps.
renaldo_m_ndmets
If you are not shooting for National Geografic, the difference is not so big. More matters for what you use. I will sell my 70-200 and only reason is to reach animals and birds. I probably loose a bit in speed and quality, but not so much at all.
