bill_carriger2
Has anyone else noticed their browser crashing since Pnet began the newest marketing gimmick ("The following words have been removed...")? It seems a coincidence that this never occured before now. Whenever I click on a posting, then attempt to return to the forum, my computer crashes. Good old Windows, I know this happens occasionally, but this seems very suspicious. And very annoying. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing it. everitt
The site has been working perfectly fine for me. What browser are you using, and when's the last time you updated it?
socke
Try another browser from <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/" target="_blank" Title="rediscover the web">here</a>. <br>It is pretty robust and you can download extensions to protect yourself and your computer agains lots of things. <br>In our company the use of Internet Explorer with untrusted sites is prohibited and only a few webpages are accessible with IE. Photo.net is not one of them anymore.<br>
everitt
Ditto the firefox...
john_shriver
Yeah, that keyword stuff runs JavaScript in your browser. If your browser is buggy at doing that, you're in trouble. You may be able to configure your old browser to disable the JavaScript -- but a lot of sites may not work.

peter_white2
Why would anyone not use Firefox?
peter_evans4
<p>Why not use Firefox? Um, well, because Safari, Konqueror and Opera are also fine?</p><p>If you use M$IE under Doze, just run it through <a href="http://www.proxomitron.info/">the Proxomitron</a>.</p>
jtk
If your browser is crashing, you have a virus. It doesn't "happen occasionally" unless a system is seriously in trouble. It's a system problem, not a Windows problem.
frank_farmer2
Firefox is good, so is Safari. But then again, I don't think you can run Safari on a Windows machine. Not sure. Man, I love my Mac! Certainly, get rid of IE and go with something else. IE is a nightmare of security and web woes. Frank Farmer Jackson, Miss.
david_doyle
<i>IE is a nightmare of security and web woes.</i> <p> And so is Win2k, W98 and XP w/o SP2 installed. But social engineering is the bane of all platforms though, ie phising etc. <p> People complain about Mac marginalization, but I could care less, I enjoy the lack of exploits in the wild. richie chishty
I use Mozilla Firefox and have never experienced any crashes. Your browser might be infected!
terry_rory
Firefox for 6 weeks now. S'good. Hope I never need to go back to something like IE.
john_boyle3
I just use Windows Explorer with the latest upgrades for ME. No problems. My ISP has a very effective virus and spam filter and the Pnet changes have had no adverse effects.
bill_carriger2
Just downloaded Firefox. I think I'm gonna like this!
graham_line
The 'back' button on my old version of usually bulletproof Netscape went stupid on P-net, and P-net alone, when they added the google box. Been meaning to either look at Firefox, or dump P-net.
dan flanders
I had consistent problems with Netscape and IE. When I switdhed to Firefox the problems ceased and I have no more such trouble. Adblock and a couple other ad-ons have completely eliminated most of the PITA ads. Try it, it's free!
EricM
I've been on Firefox for almost a year. The lack of spyware that gets loaded is incredible.
jake_p
Fascinating - to read all this and realize that, since my Windows PC crashed in February, (again), and I replaced it with a PB, I haven?t suffered any intrusions or pop-ups. I'd forgotten all about them...my headache?s gone! (except for question marks that POP-UP instead of apostrophes).
