EricM
go to adobe.com, hit search (the easiest way to find it) and type in "camera raw 3.1" and download it. warning, the plugin goes into a different folder than we are used to with cs so make sure you find the correct path. EricM
and weird, the photos that you have taken prior to installing the plugin might not work even after the updates. mine don't. so don't freak out if it still doesn't work, just go shoot some more shots and then they should. the files that i did shoot before installing the plugin, i had to run through the dng converter that comes with the download inorder to view and use. hudspeth
Tina, if you find that system too confusing try Pixmantec's Rawshooter at Pixmantec.com. This is a free version and has no problems with NEF files on my D2hs. It will port to Adobe.

patricks
if you are using windows xp as your OS, then also go to this microsoft site and download the RAW viewer, which allows you to view NEFs directly in the IE explorer in e.g. your My Pictures folder. patricks
clarification, requires XP SP2 (service pack 2).
watermelon
Without sp2 they will display as thumbnails anyway in windows explorer. If you feel the D2x is a bit complicated for you I would be happy to swap you many simplier cameras....
bernard_frank
Of course Tina is using a PC platform. If she used a Mac she'd have no problem at all.
