180 4.5 short barrel v. 180 4.5 W-N sharpness

Is the Mamiya RZ67 180 4.5 SB lens equivalent in sharpness, contrast, and color saturation

to the new 180 4.5 W-N lens? I searched both Mamiya and photo.net archives on this and

could find nothing on this subject. There is a noticeable difference in price between the

two

lenses.

Not sure but given the cheap price of mint 180 W-N's I would pick one up and pass on the short barrel unless you are going to use the shift adapter. If the SB was better in any way, Mamiya marketing would have mentioned it.

Optically, it is exactly <b><a href="http://www.mamiya.com/lenses.asp?id=1&id2=2022&id3=2025&id4=2041&id5=2048" target="_NEW">the same lens</a></b>.
