john_c.
Is the optical formulation of the ROM version (Leica #11333) the same as the previous version (Leica #11259) ?
ronald_moravec1
There were two optical versions. The original was updated about 5 years ago. The newer one has a pull out shade and the original has a nice deep rectangular one that take ser 7 filters. Can`t answer if ROM came with the newer optical version, but it probably was considering it`s age.
ben z
There were two optical versions. The original was updated in 1994, eleven years ago, as a 3-cam with new optics including a floating element, 55mm filter threads and integral rectangular plastic shade that pulls out a few millimeters rather wobbly but does not lock. The ROM version, identical optically and physically, was released after the introduction of the R8 which happened in 1996. I researched this lens when I had my R8 outfit as a possible addition.
