h._p.
Unless my memory is going (always a possibility) long streams of characters in postings, such as URLs, were broken and folded at (roughly) position 80. This isn't happening any more. It means that some posts are becoming very difficult to read, requiring lots of sideways scrolling. Is this a deliberate change? bill_thorlin
Good question - waiting for a good answer.
mottershead
There hasn't been a change so far as I know. Long lines have never been automatically wrapped. Perhaps in the past you were using a browser that automatically wrapped lines at a certain point if it couldn't find a space or some other logical point at which to wrap them. That's possible. I'll investigate further. Thanks.
keith_laban
I noticed yesterday that on some of the pages the google ads area on the left was missing. Perhaps this would explain why the text required scrolling?
mottershead
Usually the lines are long because someone types a very long string of text without spaces, such as a long URL, or because they make an HTML post and include an image that is wide. bobatkins
If people post long lines of continuous characters, it breaks the site format. It's always been this way. If someone posts a URL with 800 characters in it, the right page margin gets pushed around 700+ (800 minus regular text area width) characters to the right.
