ruben leal
I usualy discard images were only photographers know how hard is to get them, and my wife normaly select the images because of the contents, but I'm quite tempted to include this image, which is plagued of mistakes (it isn't clear who's the main subject, all the people is looking away from the camera, I had the speedlight manualy set at 105mm for the previuos shot and forgot to put it back to auto zoom, the exposure isn't well balanced, etc). What dou you think? May this be a good image for the "quinceañera"? This was taken tonight in a very small town (I guess less than 500 inhabitants) where an uncovered public sports court is used for the local weddings and "quinceañeras" (15 year's birthdays). The weather was rainy, and the thunderbolts were so long that I believed I could shoot them... and I did it! No further processing than converting the RAW file and removing some sensor's dust spots in Canon's DPP. Thanks for your replays! ronaldo_r
Looks like a scene from a Lars von Trier movie:) I like it
neilambrose
I think I'd include it. It's low on subject matter, but big on atmosphere. Any the people who were there will remember it, so they'll probably like it.
jennifer_nichols
Absolutely! Amazing shot.
ltilley
I think its great... no question that you should incluide it. It's not technically perfect, but the ambience is one I'm sure the bride would want to remember. I'd be thrilled if I got a shot like this. I feel like the subject is the sky.. laurenm
I say include it! what did your wife think/ I think its a great idea that she chooses the pictures for you. As photographers we may at times be too picky about our work and forget that the average client doesn't notice the technical aspects, but just wants the images for their own memories. This shot is a perfect example showing what the evening was actually like!
kevin cook - stratford upo
I tend to include all images (with obvious exceptions such as eyes etc and unuseable) but something like this definately goes into the proofs. I shot a Bride entering a church a couple of years ago and there was lots of background problems, overexposed against the sun, but it caught the moment she entered the Church head bowed. I showed it to a few clleagues who advised against it. I included it and it was used for the main album, both parents selected it and the Groom had a 16 x 12 done! david_eicher
There's a 16 x 12 ?? I think it looks great. Hate to tell you how many mechanical mistakes are consider great photographic moments. Besides if some photographers can give their clients 25 shots of them dancing with each other, why not add this one......atleast it will be different ;-)
sebastien_auger___quebec__
I say photoshop it. You can make this image much more acceptable than you think by dodging/burning/curving selected areas. Sebastien Auger
miguel_diaz1
Should this image get into an album? si Ruben, aunq dudo q la familia de la quinceaera aprecie la foto, por los motivos q tu mismo expones; sin embargo, si dejas la foto, quien sabe, quiz᳠dentro de unos aos alguien al ver la foto la aprecie, uno nunca sabe, si la foto vale la pena, aunq la familia no lo aprecie, incluyela my two cents =) Miguel D. alex_silva
I think the concept is great, but maybe you could improve the image using Photoshop. Hope this helps, Alex
