To Elves and kin, a friendly Mahalo. While I was out at the beach some

nice enhancements have clearly been put place. 1) I was able to upload

a JPEG file to a post without getting an error message that pushed me

to copying and storing it as a GIF. Hope this applies to portfolio as

well, maybe not, gotta try it... Good show, lads if JPEGs are recognized.

And 2) someone said the software will also do links without HTML

encoding by the poster. Good show again, hope it works with my Netscape

7.xxx browser, am sure it will. I just thought I would say something

nice instead of just bitchin about ads n stuff. Regards,Gerry.

While fetching the error for Giampi, I discovered that it does still exist for photos being uploaded to a portfolio.

Some JPGs spit back this error:<br><br>

Gerry, if you are using Photoshop (Version 7 or later), then the JPEG files that are produced by the "Save..." command have profile information embedded which breaks certain browsers, notably versions of IE 6. For this reason, photo.net doesn't allow them. You can generate several formats including JPEG with the "Save for Web..." command. Also, this command has other useful Web-related features such as downsampling and conversion to the sRGB color space.

You need to use 'save for web' in PS to generate the jpg and it will load. Otherwise all jpg's have the xml data that the site doesn't want. This has happened to me a couple of times with the same message and in these cases I had only saved the jpg and not used the 'save for web' feature.
