dennis_couvillion

Thanks again to all who have expressed an interest in the series of Katrina pics I've posted here. Just wanted to let you know that as part of the project I've compiled 100 Katrina pics on a DVD set to an original musical score. It is being shown at the AXA Gallery in New York along with a couple of my prints. The DVD is now available for sale in New York at The Photo Village and at The International Center of Photography. In the New Orleans area you can find it at the New Orleans Museum of Art as well as at Barnes & Noble and at Borders in Metairie. Thanks again. beau 1664876222
Dennis, I'll keep an eye out for it. Sounds like a great project -- this picture in particular is excellent. I hope things are on the upswing for you and yours down there.
jack_lo_..._t_o
Congratulations Dennis. Well deserved recognition. All your Katrina pics posted here have been excellent, including this beauty above. More people should see these images, and now they will. dennis_couvillion
Thanks, guys... I forgot to mention that if you ask for it the title of the DVD is "Stillness... the aftermath of Katrina". Dennis
agardner58
Thanks Dennis. Since I work down the block from AXA Gallery, I 've been able to stop in and see the DVD at the AXA show a number of times, and it is heartbreaking. I recommend the show to anyone who might be in NYC between now and May 20. The gallery is at 787 Seventh Avenue at 51st Street in the lobby of the Equitable building, and is open most Mondays through Saturdays. In addition to Dennis' work, there are also many works of art on display. Also, Arbus, Friedlander, Cartier-Bresson, Belloq, Clarence MacLaughlin, Walker Evans, Robert Frank... I highly recommend it...and it is free (the gallery show, not the DVD!) but donations for the New Orleans Museum of Art are accepted.
mike dixon
Congrats, Dennis. Good to see that a resident's view of the situation is getting some exposure.

j_t3
Nice work and good job Dennis. They've all be great, this one too of course. What's amazing is that within all that devastation in this photo, the statue remains in it's upright position and was not knocked over.
zoeica images
Now there's a great excuse to fly to NY and pay another visit to Photovillage! Will my wife buy into it? Of course, there's an H&M nearby. Great news on the DVD Dennis. Thanks for giving me a sneak peek a few months ago. Chris Williams
