EXA 1a film advance does not work

Recommended Posts

Thanks, but that did not help. The shutter seems to be a curved piece of material (either plastic or light metal). The winding action must retract the shutter, while at the same time dropping the mirror. So, what resets the film advance after pushing the shutter release button?

Suggesting the obvious - the shutter button lock on the left of the rear of the camera has not been partially turned on?

regarding the shutter - it is unique in that the mirror is the equivalent of the first blind in a focal plane shutter - when it swings up it exposes the film - the semi tubular flap is the equivalent of the second blind that swings up to close it off after the exposure. They swing back in step when the shutter is wound - hence no fast speeds and no instant return mirror - it would be just too heavy to work.
