paul_starkey1
Hi I have recently upgraded my eos 1000 to an eos 3, i have just bought the canon 50mm f1.8 ef lens, the problem is that the af lens is slightly soft on my eos 3, i can manually focus it so it is sharp but if i use the af it focuses slightly behind the point of foucs. if i put the lens on my eos 1000 it focuses fine and my other 2 sigma zoom lenses work fine on my eos 3, i have returned the lens to the shop and exchanged it for a new one but still the same problem, i am now therefore stuck as to what the problem is, i have checked all the af settings on my eos 3 (is there something i'm missing), do i need a different focusing screen for the faster lens? your help and suggestions would be much appreciated Cheers
PuppyDigs
Do other lenses work okay on your EOS 3? If so, Canon can calibrate the lens to your camera. If not, your EOS 3 needs an AF adjustment. I have an EOS 3 and my 1988 EF 50 1.8 (MK I) works perfectly. Of course, you have the MK II... Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
