Rollei 6000 Bayonet - inner vs. outer- QUESTIONS

Does the dedicated shade for the 6000 series 80mm lens sit on the OUTER

bayonet flange? If so - does anyone know if it would be possible to mount an

adapter to the INNER flange to take 67mm filters? Is this how it's MEANT to

work (excepting the adapter or course).

 

And is it the INNER or OUTER that is considered Bay VI??

Yes, the shade (I have the bellows shade) sits on the outer bayonett.

I don't have an adapter to 67mm yet, but the Bay VI filters are bigger than 67mm and they are possible to mount. The only exception is the Rolleipol which is to big to fit. I think it is the inner bayonet that is "generally" considered as Bay VI.

So - I'm assuming then, SINCE the 67mm filter would be SMALLER than the

Bay VI - that it would be slightly easier to manipulate - especially with the

adapter ring in place - INSIDE the shade... (?)

If think <a href="http://www.srbfilm.co.uk/index1.html">SRB film</a> in the UK makes some Bay VI adapters, if that's of interest to you.

I use 67mm filters with a Rollei Bay 6 to 67mm adapter. I believe B&W or Heliopan make the

adapter. The bayonet shade will work with the filters.

There are also BAY VI to 77mm adapters out there; I think B&H has them.

Jon, The Bay VI-67 adapters fit to the inside race of the lens, leaving the outer one for hood, bellows, etc. You may also pancake Bay VI filters on each's own inner race, but then, with multiple rings, I doubt that the hood would have enough "reach" to get back to connect with the lens.
