h._p.
For those in the UK, there's a new issue out today (but dated the 25th) devoted entirely to Leica. A lot of useful info on the screw mount cameras and some marvellous images from the golden days of Picture Post. Just picked mine up from Sainsbury's.<div></div>

tom_burke3
Just got my copy from my local newsagents. Contents include the following:- a) historical review of the development of the Leica screw models, and the lenses for them; b) a 'user's account' (by the AP editor) of using LTM cameras today, including the use of non-Leica (eg, Canon & CV) lenses with them; c) the regular 'Answers' pages (answers to technical questions) is very biased towards LTM and other RF cameras; d) article about Leica societies in the UK; e) article + pictures about Humphrey Spender's LTM photography; f) article + pictures about Thurston Hopkins, Picture Post photographer; g) article + pictures about John Chillingworth as a Leica IIIb user. A great issue. Mind you, next week's looks even better. There's be a review of 5 5megapixel digital compacts....
terry_rory
And what does the guy with the monocle and the unfeasibly large beard (on the last page) have to say for himself this week?

h._p.
I've got a lot of time for Roger, some of his books are marvellous. All right, I'll grant you he can be contentious but isn't that par for the photo.net course?
les_lammers
Cripes, what is this a look at the past prior to the funeral? Just kidding. I can't get the mag here in Ft. Myers, Florida. Rats.
h._p.
If anyone wants to Paypal me the money, I'll get them a copy. Surface mail to the U.S. is 2.48 GBP and the magazine is 2GBP. I've got 7 old-stock card backed envelopes so I can throw the packing in for free. That makes the total 4.48 GBP. Get my email via the photo.net enquiry feature. Bear in mind that surface mail can take a few weeks. Air mail is for the wealthy only at 5.86 GBP plus the price of the magazine. Don't hang about, though, special issues like this have a tendency to go quite fast.<div></div>

john_spiers
"And what does the guy with the monocle and the unfeasibly large beard (on the last page) have to say for himself this week?" About how much he likes fondling some of his cameras (honestly!). Very entertaining as usual. John
paul t
It's a pretty good issue. I have too many magazines knocking around, so if anybody wants a copy for postage alone, and has PayPal, email me. First email gets it.
david_m
The American bookstores usually have only one or two copies and sometimes none at all. The monthly magazines are easier to get.

eliot_rosen1
We get Amateur Photographer in the USA. Just go to Barnes and Nobles or any major bookstore, to the magazine section. I have bought a number of issues of AP over the years.
