jasonang
I've an LCD where if I use the DVI connection, the manual contrast controls are disabled. Does this mean I've to get colour calibration software which supports DDC/CI so the contrast can be set correctly? My Dell LCD docs says it supports DDC (I'm on a Mac platform). How important is being able to set the contrast when doing calibration? As far as I can tell, ColorEyes Display and GretagMacbeth Eye-One Match supports DDC/CI whereas Monaco OptixXR Pro doesn't. What will I lose if my LCD's contrast is fixed and I calibrate using the Monaco system?
andrew_rodney1
First you have to find out if the display even supports the DDC protocol (most do not).
