toddklassy
There is always an abundance of dialogue on this board about the pros and cons of different lenses. I have been learning a great deal by following all of this. That said, I have two questions for everyone: 1.) What is your favorite lens? In other words, which lens do you love to use? 2.) What other camera do you like to use in addition to your Canon digital SLR (if you have one)? All response and explanations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Todd
fernando lopez
1. The good ol'50 f/1.8. Tack sharp, great bokeh and light sensitive. Great price also. Never let me down. 2. The 1Ds Mark II ofcourse. That cam is just from another planet. Unfortunately my bank account is not.....
neil_roberts1
55-200 EF lens as it is just so versitile for the price (?149 at 7 dayshop) Also use a 50 quid vivitar point and shoot 5 million pix as it just goes in th pocket and the results are quite good
taner
What I have and use... This is not fun that way - I will tell you what I want instead: Lenses: I would like to own ALL the 72mm diameter primes: 20mm/2.8 (the only one I actually own on this list), 35mm/1.4L, 85mm/1.2L, 135mm/2L, 200mm/2.8L - what an arsenal that would be! full frame is a must. If money were not an issue, I would want to go back to film with 1) a high end medium format camera (a Hassy would be good) 2) a Nikon FM3a and a 35mm/1.4 manual lense to use exclusively with TMY for street shooting. Add a top of the line Nikon film scanner to that. Oh well.
bens
it depends on the situation, but my most impressive lens overall is the canon 50/1.4. stunning colors, excellent clarity, and very good contrast.

derrick_morin___fallon__ne
50 1.4 is the most useful. 100 2.0 has made me the most $$$ - fantastic portrait lens. 200 2.8L is my favorite to use - a real pro lens and a dream to handle. While I really like my 10D and 20D, I'd love to have a couple of 1DMkIIs instead.

John Crowe
Two extremes that I use on an EOS film camera and which will eventually be used on a Canon DSLR: Canon FD 400mm f2.8 L and Nikon 14mm f2.8 ED. If I could only have one it would be the 14mm! Would love to have the EF 200mm f1.8 L but a well used manual focus Nikon 200mm f2 will likely have to do. jayme
My favorite lenses: 1-Tamron 28-300mm. I like the wide range and the images are pretty darn sharp. Best carry around lens. 2-16-35mm Crystal clear (a little heavy though) 3-35mm 0n 20D sharp & fast 4-28-105mm cheap, but versatile My Least favorite: 1-100mm Macro, basically it demands a tripod unless the sun is shining brightly. Sorry, I hate tripods! :) I love the images, but hate to drag the tripod. I shoot with the 10D, 20D & the Mark II DS. Favorite? 1-20D landscapes & all outside photography, plus candids and action 2-Mark II for inside studio with flash. (don't feel comfortable dragging it outside, too darn expensive, my middle name is NOT Grace) 3-10D is my back up for the 20D.
roy_pertchik1
Favorite lens on my 20D... well two: 24 1.4 (great focal length indoors, great speed indoors... get's impossible shots at 1.4, great bokeh, sooooo sharp after 2 or 2.8) 10-22 (fun every where, nice and sharp)

jim_mcdonald1
Has to be the 70-200 f/4L for me. Maybe I'm just lucky and have a brilliant copy. Wish I could say the same for my 17-40 f/4L. Other camera is a G6 which I have some reservations about. Would love a 1 series dSLR for the bujild quality alone...one day, maybe.
