lucas_jarvis
Does the 20D take a 3/8 or a 1/4 thread for it's tripod mount? I'd like to get an attachment for it, but I'm confused as what to buy.
michaelging
I am sure its a 1/4-20 on that camera. Only older cameras had the 3/8 threads and those were mainly Hassys and German cameras.
William Kahn
Definitely 1/4-inch......
charles_stobbs3
Buy a 1/4-20 screw (for a few cents) in a hardware store and try it to convince yourself.
byronlawrence
i want to fourth the 1/4 inch size.. the 3/8 inch is mostly used on larger cameras like the Mamiya and such as mentioned above.
dan flanders
Maybe at some time in the past someone made a camera with an odball tripod socket, but it is doubtful there is anything available today other than the 1/4" or 3/8" size and it should be easily determined by simple measurement. If it is the latter, a bushing to reduce it to the standard 1/4" size is available at most photo stores at a nominal cost.
