bob soltis
Dennis Stock's book of photographs titled: "James Dean: Fifty Years Ago" is worth a look. In addition to the famous Times Square photo, the book includes Stock's documentation of Dean's visit to his Fairmont, Indiana hometown less than a year before his untimely death, and Mr. Stock's account of his time spent with the late actor. I was fortunate to run across this book in the new acquisitions section of the San Diego library.
kirk_teetzel
My local libray as it as well. Very good book. I'm a big fan of Stock's work. I noticed this in it: Author of the introduction says that Stock suggested to Dean that Dean stand in a window and photograph peoples' reaction to seeing Dean; in Stock's text of that photo, he says that Dean suggested it. subpopstar
Yup, I like Dennis Stock too. His 'Made in USA' is a good overview of his work. It has several of his James Dean photos, and selected highlights from other projects as well. Worth a look if you run across a copy.
