BG-e2 can't select focus from grip

I just got the BG-E2 from b&H:

 

When I set the 20D to multi controller direct it would be nice if you can select

the focus bracket from the bg-e2 , but I guess it cannot work that way huh?

When I click on the focus selector on the bg-e2 all focusing brackets flash at once (?)

 

I gotta still do it from the selector on the body, any workaround?

If I understand you correctly, You can set what you like to control the focus points with through custom functions. This will spare you two movements to select the focus point. (i.e.) 1) Press button on bg-e2 2) Select point by rotating dial. I set mine to respond when I use my thumb to rotate the big dial.
