paul_sokal___dallas__tx
If you're set on MIS inks, I'd go with the 2200. The 1280 is designed for dye inks and mine ultimately choked to death on the pigment inks in MIS UT2. Or get a 2400 and use Epson inks.

cbender
I've got the UT2 inks in my 1280, and it seems to be fine. I also run the MISPRO color inkset in it. They both use the same Eboni black, so I only have to switch the color cartridge. I haven't had any serious clogging problems yet, although I'm sure they will happen eventually (I had both an 820 and 1160 die the long slow clog death). I do get clogs that can be cleared with a single head cleaning. In the summer, when the humidity is high, I can go several weeks without printing and not have any missed nozzles. In the winter, when the humidity is low, I need to print something every couple of days. If you can afford a more current printer, get that. If you're looking for cheap, get the 1280.
