thomas_janik
I use PS CS, is there a way to batch process RAW files to jpeg's for slide show viewing? Thanks
Brian_Edwards
Yes, you need to read about action sets in either the Photo Shop documentation or a Photo Shop book (one example: Chapter 9 of Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS2 will lead you through it). paul_sokal___dallas__tx
1 way to do it is to create an action to convert your file to JPEG and then run the batch processor using that action.
gluteal cleft
If all you want is a slideshow, then presumably you don't need full resolution. Instead of spending the time to have the RAW files converted, you can simply extract the embedded JPGs from the RAW files, and use those. I installed ActivePerl and ExifTool, and wrote a batch file to extract JPGs for me. I can right-click on a directory, choose "extract JPGs", and very soon, they're all in a "thumbnails" subdirectory. It gives me the quick-n-dirty camera-produced JPGS for slideshow/proofing, the RAW file for important work, and just as importantly, I don't waste card space or camera CPU time on an extra JPG. steve
