lex_jenkins Posted June 2, 2005 Share Posted June 2, 2005 If I'm recalling correctly most of Nikon's dSLR sensors come from Sony. However Nikon at least designed the LBCAST sensor used in the D2H. I don't know whether Nikon actually manufactured it. There's a fairly extensive article on the Nikon Japan website about this. Unlike the Nikon USA site, the Nikon Japan site often carries in-depth articles written by the engineers discussing various cameras, lenses, etc. The articles are not mere hype, are surprisingly frank and not too technically oriented. Canon makes their own . butthen again Canon is an electronics company. Ironically in their manufacturing process (at least) Canon uses step motors made by Nikon!
