RZ67 ProII cable release plunger depth

<p>I've just bought a mechanical self-timer like

<a href="http://home.att.net/~sales3d/Timer.htm">this</a> and is

talked about

<a

href="http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00DxHW&tag=">here

on photo.net</a> for my RZ67 ProII to be used during instances when I,

for

narcissistic reason, want to be in the photograph with my

subject(s).  The

timer does what it was made to do, but is rather noisy.  If you

read the

page that I linked you will find out that the timer's plunger can be

adjusted to

various depths.  I have adjusted the plunger to the minimum depth

and tried

it on my RZ, but it appears that the plunger still travels too deeply

even at

the minimum depth that the timer is capable of.  I am considering

filing

down the plunger in order to obtain the appropriate depth, but I don't

know how

deep is the point of contact inside the RZ cable release socket.

Does

anyone know?  </p>

Nghi, I had exactly the same problem with my Bronica. I just screwed in an ordinary cable release with a lockable plunger, then gently operated the release until the shutter tripped. Whilst holding the plunger in the 'tripped' position, screw in the cable release lock. When you unscrew the cable release from the camera, the plunger will at the required depth and the length of exposed plunger can be measured. Hope this is clear.
