headphone extension cords for strobes

i wrote this a few days ago but seems like it got lost.

 

there are extension cords for headphones that use similar plugs than sync

cords. so the extension is between the strobe and the sync cord, not between

the camera and the sync cord (with two PC connections).

 

my question is, there are more contacts on the headphone extensions, can i

still safely trigger strobes with them ?

Before I went wireless, I used a 25' 1/8 stereo extension cord with my Alien Bees without any issues. I got it from Radio Shack.

i would only use stereo extensions, not headphones. some may be the same thing, but a headphones cord may not hold the current from a strobe. Be safe, not sorry, and check the ratings of everything BEFORE you even test it.

the voltage of the stobes i use is 6v i guess headphones should be ok with that. but ill check.
