capocheny
Al, Just spray paint EVERYTHING black... then you won't have to worry about the table being cherry wood or blonde oak! :) Cheers

kent_tolley2
Never thought I would like a chrome lens on a black body till I saw Peter's even without that lens accessory. I think black paint makes the biggest difference. So pretty. A little ashamed here to admit it makes a difference to me but it does.
al_kaplan1
Is that a Solms bud or a vintage Wetzlar bud?
dan flanders
Aside from my preference for black cameras I never gave the issue that much thought; but I do know that engraved shotguns break more claybirds!

frederick_muller
For the fashion conscious, black bodies are great. They go with anything. They look great with black, wonderfully retro with silver, and they even have a marvelous two-tone look with titanium lenses. Chrome bodies work with black and chrome lenses, but in my view, they don't look good with titanium. Needless to say, if I happen to be carrying a chrome machine and a titanium lens, the lens goes right on the camera to take the picture. I assume we're talking "fondling mode" here. :-)

r s
I may well be in the minority camp here but I personally think chrome lenses on a black body looks terrible. It will obviously WORK as well as a black lens - but from a pure looks-perspective I think it's looks bad.

My personal preferences:
Black body - Black lens: Nice!
Black body - Chrome lens: Bleh!!
Chrome body - Black lens: 'Ok...'
Chrome body - Chrome lens: Classic and great look! al_kaplan1
Peter, it looks like Jamaican to me. Now you've got me wondering if an old brassed chrome M body with an 85/2 Nikkor might look better with Colombian gold or perhaps Panama red. Sheeesh! Next thing some astute capitalist will be offering matching camera strap and neck tie sets.
