peter_steeper
I loved the E1 hand strap on my Elan 7 and when I bought the 20D Iwanted an E1 for it as well. I was very surprised to find out the BG-E2 grip for the 20D was twiceas expensive as the grip for the Elan 7. I don't need the extrabattery on the 20D as one battery lasts forever. I don't want thevertical grip, I never used it much on the Elan 7. I don't want to pay$200-300 CDN to get the little eyelet for the E1 hand strap. Is there alternative way to attach the E1 hand strap? -Peter
edward_h
There is some sort of device you can screw to the tripod hol gives you an eyelet. Can't say I remember its name, but I myself would easily go for the whole grip which is great for resting one's whole palm onto.
jon_austin
For $18.50, you can buy a grip for the 20D that screws into the tripod mount, and provides a second threaded hole for tripod mounting: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=194968&is=REG I've been using one of these for about a year, and have been very satisfied with it. peter_steeper
Thanks Jon and Billy, I have ordered the Camdapter from the guy on Ebay. It's a little more money but it looks to be well built and I already have the hand strap. http://www.camdapter.com/ -Peter
jim_garavuso
Peter: The advantage the Camdapter ( http://www.camdapter.com ) has is that it does not block your battery compartment like the other available solutions. They also come in double ended configurations that allow you to attach your neck strap as well! -Jim
jim_garavuso
Peter: Just curious....are you satisfied with your Camdapter
peter_steeper
Hi Joe, The fit and finish of the Camdapter is excellent. I find the E1 strap just fits. If I had larger hands the strap would be too short. I have attached my Manfrotto quick release plate to the bottom it. I have only used it once since it arrived so I don't know how well it will stay on. The quick release plate has holes for alignment pins and it would be a nice option to have an alignment pin on the Camdapter. Maybe a headless allen screw so it could added or removed if you don't want the alignment pin. Overall a great product and very fast service! Thank you.
