CV 90 Apo Lanthar on Leica IIIG/M3

Hi, Julio,

With the M3, it will cut off the bottom right-hand corner of the viewfinder. Although I don't have a iiig (iiia and iiic/f is all I have), I wouldn't rule it out that it would do the same with it.

The easiest way around it is to use a cold-shoe mounted viewfinder. I love the CV lenses, and I even use them on my earlier screwmounts with no problem at all--provided that I use an accessory viewfinder.

I hope this helps.

Yes--perfectly clear: the 90mm frame is what I was referring to. Unfortunately, I do not have any experience with other hoods. Perhaps somebody else here does. In any case, I wouldn't give up on that wonderful lens. ;-)

Hi, dear Julio. I own a CV Apo Lanthar 90 mm f/ 3,5. With the supplied lens hood, i don't have any problem in the finder, both Leicas or Bessas. The mechanical and optical quality are true outstanding. The CV Apo Lanthar it's a fantastic lens. The minimum focus distance it's 120 centimeters (47,24 inches).

Ciao
