jaybee
Is there an inkjet paper available that has a deckle edge, or is the deckle edge something that you have to do after printing. I saw a tool that is available for adding a deckle edge, but wondered if there was a paper that is manufactured that way. Thanks in advance for any help. Spearhead
I've never seen any inkjet paper that comes with a deckled edge. I use the <a href="http://www.artdeckle.com/">Art Deckle</a>, it's not that expensive and it's easy to use. jtk
Inkjetart.com sells a deckle-tearing tool...a lucite uneven-sharp-edged, tearing ruler.
joseph_wisniewski
Trust me on this one, you do not want to run real deckled paper through an inkjet. Inkjets like paper that lies flat. A deckled edge can roll up under the print head. At best, this will get ink all over the deckled edge, and probably draw a smear of ink across the print. At worst, small bits of paper may stick to the underside of your print head and block some nozzles, or larger chunks of paper may jam the head outright. You could end up looking at a full teadown of your printer. This is time consuming and messy if you know what you're doing and do it yourself. It's expensive if you don't trust your own abilities and have a professional do it. Learn to deckle with a straight edge, or possibly one of those textured ones mentioned elsewhere in this thread. You can get such things at any decent art supply shop.
