Scanning Issue

Just a quick question. I hope it hasn't already been asked, but I

was just wondering why it is that when i scan a print using a HP psc

1350 my images (once scanned and saved) look out of focus?!?!<div></div>

Have you done any sharpening in a program like photoshop? Most film scans and some reflective scans (like prints) need a bit of sharpening.

If you are using a file format that uses compression and is NOT lossless, that could be part of the problem (e.g. jpeg format at a low quality level).

Well Jen, my eyes must be getting bad because I don't think your example looks to be out of focus. Nonetheless, are you sure it's simply that the shot itself isn't somewhat out of focus? What looks to be in focus on a tiny negative can easily look out of focus in an 8x10 print. I'd take the shot to the nearest Walmart and get an 8x10 made, then check to see if that looks to be in focus.
