The wonderful world of digital photography

Recommended Posts

<em>"A lot of people start out taking the cliche pictures," said Adam

Seifer, chief executive of Fotolog: " 'Here's my kid, here's my dog,

here's my house.' " But with the potential to take unlimited "free"

shots, people usually start to get more adventurous, he said.

<p>

Seifer has taken a picture of every meal he has eaten for the past 2

1/2 years.</em>

Isn't technology wonderful.

So what's worse: actually wasting the time and resources to photograph meals, or clicking on the link to read about it and see them? If you ignore them, they will go away.

Well, gotta go. Time to shoot some pix of my latest nail clippings.

Jesus, people... ! appreciate something INTERESTING for a change - I, for

one, would wholeheartedly welcome that over most of the stuff you guys

produce... I think it would make a great show. I know an excellent canadian

artist who has exhibited all over the world (how many of you can say that) -

the subject matter? Every bag of garbage she's ever produced in the last

five years.

You people don't seem to understand the concept of representation - at

all.

Wow, you're incredibly conceited for someone who has 10 photos of personally low-valued commercial architecure work on photo.net.

Who are you to denounce our OPINIONS?

Have you ever seen the movie Easy Rider? I am someone who will take the

opportunity to fight the 'herd mentality' at every opportunity. I am

someone who appreciates and supports original thinking and will defend it

in the face of unthinking attack whenever possible. Sorry, but I find this sort

of behavior distasteful and mean-spirited. Like the kids who made fun of

the mentally retarded kids on the bus (only insofar as it's an easy target

because this person is not here to represent themselves in this forum. If

you're going to attack something in such a manner, at least be prepared to

back it up critically/intellectually, and you'd also better have the goods

pictorially. Sorry - it doesn't wash with me. I have absolutely NOTHING

against anyone personally - I'm sure you're all lovely people to have

abarbeque with on a sunday afternoon.

I think it's more a comment on the forgiving nature of some "art circles." I suppose one could replace "forgiving" with a variety of harsher adjectives but that might make someone feel undervalued.

While there is a lot to be said for bucking the herd mentality if you're a lemming, running away from the herd is a really bad idea if you're the baby wildebeest and there's a cheetah chasing you.

Retarded people can make great art. Disturbing, raw art. Like the original punk music. I saw a

show of such art last year. Amazing stuff.

Documenting things with a camera, like someone said above is just collecting.

How's this for a concept: attempt to do something with this new digital technology that has

not been done.
