Professional Lab in Bolivia / La Paz? Ecuador, Quito!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

my first question: Does anyone know a good professional Lab (prefer personal

experiences with it) .. maybe in La Paz? Got some B/W Films to develop and I am

also thinking about duplicating some of my already developed negatives..

travelling for one year so I prefer to develop it localy!

I also need to buy some new B/W and Kodak Portra NC rolls!

Another thing: If someone searches for a good Place in Ecuador go here:

Ronaldo Jones, Laboratorio fotografico profesional

Lizardo Garcia E9-104 y Andres Xaura - Telefax: (593-2) 2507 622

e-mail: rpjones@interactive.net.ec , Quito, Ecuador

It is a very personal place.. very cheap and excellent quality!

Best wishes, Bye Marcel

okay, no answer. but in between i have got some information. it seems like it is impossible to buy other B/W Film than Tri-400 .. for 48 Bolivianos (thats expensive, huh?)

anyway if you need anything really urgent go here:

The best one to

develop is Kavlin, in Potosi Street #1136, near the Murillo Square. There is

another agfa place in calle ayacucho and another one in El Prado to buy

stuff.

best regards, marcel

I know this is an old question, and I will try and post this in other similar branches, but I?d like to share the atrocious experience I had yesterday at the Agfa lab, San Fransisco,(op. the church) in La Paz and make sure that it?s not repeated for anyone else.

Out of the 5 rolls 120mm neg handed over to them, with explicit explanation of the care required, I had three of the five returned to me covered in paper fibres, from the backing discarded by every other lab in the world, which the technician had decided to roll the films back into, obviously whilst still wet. All five rolls had scratches from the machine a well as fingerprints and three had bends across several frames.

To add insult to injury, the staff blamed first the machine, then tried to tell me my camera was at fault, and then accused me of mishandling the film both before and after processing, basically denying all responsibility.

I have ten years of photographic experience and have never encountered such unprofessionalism and would urge anyone considering using this lab not to. I can?t convey the incompetance of the entire staff and how insulting the experience was.

In La Paz - Bolivia, you can find many kinds of films in "plaza San Francisco" there is a very big Kodak store. For develop B/W Casa Kavlin is the best place it is on "Calle Potosí¢ near "Shopping Norte" for other kind of films or slides, AGFA in "Calle Loayza"
