ken davis
Hi folks, I'm in kind of a frustrated mood right now. I finally had my F100 shutter fixed(it was leaving a shadow across the bottom of the frame) but now the verticalshutter release and command dial on my MB-15 seem to not work. When I depressthe secondary shutter release the AF is initiated and I can get critical focus, but it will not fire. The command dial does not change anything. I've tried itin all modes, AF on and off, same thing. Any thoughts? I'm leaving tomorrowfor a long road trip and I really would like to take this camera. Thanks in advance! pnance
I suppose the vertical switch is on?
ken davis
Paul, do you mean the lock switch? Yes, it's on. The AE-L button does not appear to work either. The only thing that is triggered when I depress the shutter is the auto focus.
bin ming
The lock switch should be off. When it is at the "L" position, it prevents the shutter release on the grip from being accidentally triggered. If the shutter release on the main body also has the same problem, you might want to change from AF-S to AF-C mode.
ken davis
The main shutter release works fine, and the lock switch is not engaged. I thought maybe it was some custom function, but I've been through the manual and I don't see anything. It seems it's a problem with the MB-15. Thanks for the posts. This is always a great source! todd peach seattle, washi
My first response to flaky behavior between two electronic elements: clean the contacts. Sometimes you get off cheap.
