t.k.
Hi all,I am wondering if any of the photographers out there deal with someone who work on a wedding while there is also someone from the D.J. taking photos. They do that so they can display the photos on the LCD TV during the reception. The D.J. had contacted the bride and told her that they won't be on the photographer's way. My contract between the bride states I am the exclusive official photographer. Here is the problem, it is a small world, I had clients using this D.J. 2 months ago and a few brides using him next year. 2 months ago, the shooter from the D.J. was a little bit on my way, but not to the point that start irritating me. But I had to admit I wasn't pleased. What would you do in this situation? Thanks. Tom K.
Ian Taylor
This seems like part of a trend that's going to get far worse before it gets better. I imagine you're going to have to suck it up.

jamie_thomas
I totally no what your saying. A wedding I did a few weeks ago had a DJ taking pics. But not only one but TWO! It was not fun, everytime I turned around there was their A** in my frame. The Videograper also was very annoyed. He told me that he was filming the first dance and they kept stepping it the way. Maybe we do haft to such it up, but I not referring them, I hope I never haft to work with them again.
bdp
All the pro DJ's around do not do that. I've had a DJ try to take pictures during the reception, I asked him to stop as he was really messing up some of my pictures. Either that, or I would start to play my own music, basically doing his job (as he was doing mine), but only a few songs, like his only a few pictures. I told him that if he wanted pictures for his portfolio, I would be more than happy to send him some as he wasn't doing it for anything else. That made him happy and he hasn't done it, with me anyway, again, and he like the pictures. Since you've now encountered this, you should make it clear to the B/G during your meetings that this has happened and you do not allow other pro's (photog or not) to take photos.
