www.wesleyalmond.com
I did have a nice working Pentacon Six (yesterday) I did a series of filmspacing test and everything worked Perfectly! Today I was "messing" with it again firing the shutter etc.And somehow I got the shutter curtains out of sync (I think?)Now when I fire the shutter only the mirror fires. With the film door is open Inoticed that the curtains move forward as I slowly wind the advance, but itseems they aren't moving far enough ahead to lock in place. When I start movingthe advance lever back to it's resting place the shutter curtains move back also.So the curtains never open to expose the film, they just rock back and forthcovering the same ground.Any info on this? I have repaired many cameras in my day, rolleis, folderscompurs, prontors...but a Pentacon?? It's a new one and I need a little infobefore I open this sucker up. And yeah I know "you should send it off for repair"but that's no fun. .
jrjacobs
I love the lenses for the P6 - but the bodies are notoriously unreliable. Never bring it along if you need to "count on it" unless you have 2 backup bodies. Sounds like from what you describe that one of the curtain ribbons is loose (the one on the side opposite the winder mechanism). Might need reglueing or replacing. Not for the faint of heart, but if you can repair a Rollei you may be up for it.
