Interesting Border Design on WWII era photos

This is a photo of my Dad?s from the early 1940s. I believe that this is a

cross-country trip that he took with some buddies while on leave in the Navy.

The envelope is from the Post Exchange Branch No. 17 Camp Bowie, Texas. He got

out of the National Guard a few weeks before WWII started. After Pearl Harbor,

he joined the Navy. I think it?s funny that the box of photos that this came

from has pics of him in both Army and Navy uniforms.

I was wondering if this kind of border design was common during that era. If you

look closely the border corners read ?Studer Photo San Antonio Texas? It comes

in handy when I flip the scan the wrong way, easy to tell when the picture is

reversed. Too bad they didn?t use dates.<div>00IBZI-32603984.thumb.jpg.c5103c2aa7a12b88ea2aff6e62803a24.jpg</div>
