I purchased a 400D coincident with upgrading to Adobe CS2. After a few weeks

of use, I was under the impression my 400D was significanlty noisier than my

20D at ISO 800 and 1600, and there has been some discussion on-line about

that. But then I became suspicious about CS2. Attached is a side-by-side of

part of a 20D RAW image processed identically in CS and CS2. Relatively heavy

USM was applied in each to amplify the noise differences. The difference may

not appear large, but the jump seems to be about the equivalent of going from

ISO 400 to 800 or even 1600 (using the same camera and same PS version).

I'm aware of the ACR features added for CS2, but is anyone aware of any

significant changes made in the basic ACR algorithms between CS and CS2?<div>00JWFl-34430284.jpg.a6bc72b420de27482bdb4c6008ba2c0d.jpg</div>
