paolo_m
Hey there. I have a shoot coming up at Coney Island I didn't know if I needed apermit. I'm going around 12 PM on a weekday. I've shot there before, but thistime I'm bringing one light with an umbrella and a friend of mine to hold areflector. I am also a student. So I could "supposdely" be shooting for school. But in any case, would it be wise to obtain a permit? thanks!
yanavas
There is also a secluded area right on the edge of the Ocean behind Brighton 15th beach. I've done a number of beautiful shoots there and nobody ever came to bother me there.
martin_fuchs2
i guess if you do commercial work you would need a permit but i doubt that you'd get problems especially at a place were you can see a bunch of professional photographers on every given day such as coney island.

it only happened to me once that i was bothered there. by a mother...
if you are interested you can read an article on my website.

greetings,
martin
