nghi_hoang
I want to replace the factory focusing screen of my Yashica Mat EM with a brighter screen. I am considering using a screen from a Mamiya RB/RZ, Hasselblad, or Pentax 67. I am sure I will have to cut one of these screens down to size, but I am not sure if the thickness would be a compatibility issue. At the very least, I know a Mamiya RB screen is okay with the Mat. I dont know about the others. Has anyone performed this conversion with a screen from any other manufacturer?
jrjacobs
I have an extra screen that fits the EM. It is a fresnel type with a split prism in the middle for precise focusing, and is brand new. I would sell it for $25 if you are interested send me a private message.
robert_grasing
Some years ago I replaced the screen in my Yashicamat 124G with a Bronica SQ (6X6) screen. This required filing off a locating tab. Otherwise, no problems. When the camera was overhauled by Kyocera/Yashica, they found no problems with focusing.
