mateusz_skalski
Hello, I am a photographer by trade and I want to switch from my old CRT monitor to LCD. My budget is around 500$ - I need a 19' to 20' monitor that I could calibrate with a Spyder or MacBeth and connect to my PC (with Matrox G750 card) so it gives me fairly matched colors and show as much tonality as possible. I was thinking about Formac Gallery or LaCie TFT. Which one would be more suitable for photo processing? And, most of all, is it worth switching from CRT to LCD on such a tight budget? ellis_vener_photography
Except for the budget limitation, maybe none of the above, is the answer. See http://www.ppmag.com/reviews/200602_neclcddisplay.pdf for details
mateusz_skalski
There is a new LCD from Iyama, any reviews on these? I remember that iyama used to have really good CRT monitors used for DTP and photo-processing by profesionals.
mateusz_skalski
This NEC is way over my budget, although I'd love to have one ;) I think that the real question is should I 500$ budget an LCD or simply get myself a new pro CRT from Sony or LaCie? I just don't know, if any LCD for that money will give satisfactory colour match.
