No side by side comparisons, though? If not, a more appropriate title for the post might have been, "Returned the DMR bowling ball and started taking some truly awesome pics with Kitty". ;-)

Bummer. Just when I got finished taking a ballpeen and a brillo pad to my Leicas to make me a real photographer, along comes this guy with minty Leicas with rainbow skins and pet names and blows me away with his shots.

They're not all that minty - Barney in particular is all banged up - top plate bent, scuffs various places, and so on. Kitty has pronounced "half-moon" rubs from the strap's split rings. I just photographed them from rather far away. I use them pretty hard; each of them has probably had 500 rolls through since I got them.

 

Regarding side-to-side comparisons, I did shoot some of the same subjects with both cameras, but these pictures turned out not to be the best ones, and I'm a devoted advocate of throwing away & never exhibiting sub-par work.

 

Overall I think both cameras are capable of results as good as I can generate as a photographer, so for me it pretty much comes down to the experience of use, which is what I tried to comment on.

Bob, you are too modest. Your's are the best shots we saw all day. Thanks for posting these. I'll try to post some others when I get a chance.
