Another Fong Lightsphere question

Recommended Posts

Several months ago, someone posted a sort of "cheat sheet" for using the Gary

fong Lightsphere II. It was a useful compilation of settings etc. for certain

types of shots. Gave suggested ISO's, apertures, direction of dome, with or

without cap, etc.

I can't seem to find it now. Anyone have it handy? It might have even been

prepared by Gary Fong himself - just can't seem to remember.

There is no need for a newer version of the recommended settings with the dome, because the settings change according to type of environment, and the dome does not change that. What the dome does is "absorb" the focus of the flash beam so in places with lower ceilings, you don't get the racoon eye effect. You use the LS without dome in larger spaces/higher ceilings and with the dome in medium/small places with lower ceilings--like up to 15 feet or so. At least, that is what I've found.
