pat b
As one who hs allways used AA batteries as a power source, wilderness and foriegn travel hae neer been a problem for me. But now I'm wondering, is there a 220 volt charger available to charge my EN-EL3E batteries while travelling in foriegn countries, or do I have to use the MB-D200 grip with AA's? I'd rather not have to use this because of the added bulk. Thanks, PB<div></div>
cooper8168
Your current charger will work internationally - you just have to make sure you have an adapter (not a voltage converter). You can get them at Radio Shack for under ten bucks - just go to radioshack.com and search "foreign adapter plug". I'm assuming because you mention the MB-D200 EN-EL3E that you are talking about the D200.
sammurphy
check the back of your charger, it most likely says 110-220v or something similar, you'll just need an adapter to fit it in the socket. i'm pretty sure that all the chargers are now made like that so they only have to make one charger for the entire market and just attach the respective plug to the cord. i assume they have built in transformers. armando_roldan
You cannot charge a nikon battery overseas. It will blow up like a $50 4th July firecracker! All joking aside,of course you can recharge, what do people in Europe do, send their batteries to the USA to recharge? I thought you did regular foriegn travel before?.........of course you will need a plug adapter for your recharging unit.
Palouse
PB is obviously as Scotsman, and therefore is worldly: "..foriegn travel hae neer been a problem for me..." Right? Bobby Burns would be so proud! Yes, all you need is a physical adapter-a plug, and you will be in business.
jstyles
Nice shot of the Kootenays - it's a beautiful place. I would be tempted to tilt it slightly counter clockwise to get the trees and skier a bit more vertical. Looks like great skiing.
aaron l
Your En-El3e charger will work on 100-240V, 50/60Hz. Everywhere in the world. Just get a plug adapter. I've used it in Morocco and Egypt without issue and had the same concern as you about avoiding having to bring the MB-D200 grip.
