James Kazan
I periodically check sites such as Flickr to see if any of my architecture posting has been ripped from the site. Today I found the mother load of copyright infringement. There are many photos stolen from our community that were posted yesterday on Flickr. I recommend that members check out this URL - <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/memphisartguy">MemphisArtGuy</a> <p> I counted 42 postings stolen from Patrick Di Fruscia alone. This poster has a profile on Yahoo. The URL is - <a href="http://profiles.yahoo.com/MemphisArtGuy">MemphisArtGuy</a>. The Email address that is posted there is dead. You can leave a Flickr Email to this poster but you have to log in first. If you have a Yahoo Email you can log in using that. The URL for this posters Email at Flickr is - <a href="http://www.flickr.com/people/memphisartguy">MemphisArtGuy</a> You will find the Email link at the top of the page under "send FlickrMail"<p><b>Copyright theft is serious business. </B>

michaelging
It seems like he uploaded hundreds of photos all in one day. He must have access to a large data base as this would take days to download them from Photo.net. If you look at the pages at the end there are many photos of where he works and the people he works with. I looks to me like he is selling the photos in 3 different sizes. I am glad that he posts that these are all protected photos. This sucks.

keith turrill
It looks like all of the stolen content just disappeared. Based on this guys taste, the saturation button in his brain must have been stuck. From some of the personal photos, it would appear that bubba has a presence at some school called the Memphis College of Art. He also posted a letter concerning a utility theft inquiry at an apartment.
rickvandenberg
Just out of curiosity, how do you manage to locate your pictures? I would imagine that places like Flickr would be so overloaded as to make searching for ripped-off images next to impossible.
j_sew
Photonet & Copyright, perhaps the rules of image use should not be so casual on Photonet. It seems that you can copy or take any image you want without the creators knowlege of it. I am sure some of these images can be sold in different markets, with out compensation or "copyright". keith turrill
On my own website, each of my images is assigned keywords or tags primarily for the benefit of search engines. Periodically, I will check some of the photo sharing sites such as Flickr by plugging my own sets of keywords into their search engine. That way I can search an entire catalog. It appears that most of the images that get swiped and published do not have borders, monograms, or copyright notices. If a thief can steal three similar photos and two of them have copyright marks, he will probably take the one without the mark. Additionally, small to medium size images are much less likely to get stolen.
James Kazan
The gentleman who posted the photos wrote to me and told me where he got all the photos. The bad news is that it is a bit torrent and you can find and download all the photos as one file. I'm downloading it as I'm writing this. I did check out the details and it is all the photos I saw on Flickr. The torrent can found at http://www.torrentspy.com/search.asp?h=&query=HQ+Wallpapers&submit.x=16&submit.y=15 The file name is "HQ.Wallpapers.1600x1200.-.Set.#9.Scenery.[falafel].torrent"and it is at the bottom of the page. It claims that it came from this site http://www.hqwallpapers.net/cms/coppermine.html I joined the site but could not find any photos from Photo.net there. Perhaps they were caught before and deleted them.
