Making duplicates smaller than the original for projection

I've had 4x5" internegatives made from slides for the purpose of

getting high-quality prints. How about - almost - the opposite?

Suppose I shot a 6x9cm chrome and wanted it made into a 35mm slide for

the purpose of projection? Is this a crazy idea?

I've had same size dupes made at the local pro lab with very good results. I assume they could go down in size as well, but it gets expensive. I've read about duping slides at home using a color corrected light table and a macro lens, but haven't had time to try it myself. Kodak does have a duping film available.
