jasona1
I am having an issue with PS CS opening my 10D raw files. If the filesare opened with Canon's Utility or Irfanview(which uses canon dlls)the images look exactly as they should. If I open them with the rawconverter in PS CS the images are very washed out and require aserious amount of levels correction to get them where they should be.Is this normal? Or am I missing something? Thanks

jasona1
That helps immensely. That thread didn't turn up in my search for some reason. Thanks so much.
steve_dunn2
You're welcome! I'm getting a 20D (my first DSLR) sometime this week so I've been reading a number of the articles about this stuff, trying to prepare myself for having to deal with these issues. Fun, huh? :-)
jasona1
Yeah I have had my 10D for almost 2 years now and there is always something that comes up. Ahhh the joys of digital.
PuppyDigs
I prefer using DPP or EVU for RAW conversation over PS CS because images require much less tweaking. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
deano
Has anyone been to Andy Rouse's website lately? You can download a RAW converter for free. Not a trial version but a completely free programme that doesn't just convert RAW files (actually it is more like developing a print) but also allows you to organise them and when it's all done it will still leave your originals intact. Give it a go. www.andyrouse.co.uk and look for RAWSHOOTER ESSENTIALS
