switching position of aperture and shutter speed control wheels on Nikon F5

Is it possible to switch the position of the aperture and shutter speed control wheels on the F5? I have had mine for a little over a month and I find myself still trying to change the aperture by using the Thumb wheel rather than the wheel underneath the shutter release?</P> This is important since I primarily shoot in either aperture or manual modesand it is frustrating tothink I have made a change only to instantly realize I haven't. No, Ellis, it's not. The F100 offers this feature, though.

It will become second nature after awhile to use the front dial--just

takes some practice.

Based on the descriptions of the custom functions, on Moose Peterson's

site, you can't swap the dial functions. I was surprised, because you

can do this on the F100.

You'll get used to it over time. The fun will be when you go back to

use the N90s and try changing the aperture via the command dial

instead of the aperture ring.

I agree with Gary on this one. The main reason I sold my N90s (which

served me very well) was the switching back and forth between my F5's

and the N90s during action events. I shoot mainly in manual mode and

it was a large distraction to unlock the aperture ring and manually

change the aperture via the ring instead of the control wheel. The

F100 solved all of that and is much more like the F5 besides being a

more solid body. The good news is that the N90s held its value very

well and remains as a very competent light weight body that produces

very good results in competent hands.
