Digital Back for Leica R8/R9

Leica has a demo or demos circulating to Leica days, but as of yet I haven't heard of anybody, dealer or customer, receiving one to keep. Meanwhile the price has gone up from $5000 to $6000 retroactive to orders placed after April 1. I wish I had $6000 to risk (after all, Leica has relied on Kodak and Imacon for the workings and software and so the future serviceability is tied to the status of those companies as well as Leica) because it looks like it will be a great digital back. How it will compare to a Canon 1Ds-II or a Hasselblad V96C remains to be seen. Those with the money to buy one unseen and untested will no doubt have much to say about it if and when they finally get theirs. Though I know if I paid that much, I'd _make_ myself like it : )
